Pearl (Business) Class on Etihad..

Oh what fun it is being in Business Class.. I drove back to Heathrow airport it was an uneventful and quick drive. On arrival at Heathrow, having travelled business class before, I knew to head straight for the business class lounge and relax. Unfortunately as always when relaxing you forget about the things you should do so I have a pile of VAT receipts that I need to claim back now..!

The Business class lounge in London Heathrow was as expected… Very friendly staff, very clean and clinical, though warm and inviting at the same time. The food is either buffet, or A La Carte, both are excellent, though I only had a la carte menu items, it was outstanding portion sizes for me were just right, unlike a lot of a la carte where you are left feeling as if the main course was no more than a starter.

Whilst waiting at the bar with a nice glass of wine, I was offered a complimentary treatment at the Six Senses Spa. I opted for a 15 minute deep tissue massage, and was pleasantly surprised at how the skilled hands worked out all the tension and knots of the last few months. I left very relaxed and without any of the tedious back pain I have nearly constantly.

Boarding was very straight forward, and I was called by one of the staff personally. Hand baggage was retrieved from the complimentary lockers and I went to the gate which was opposite the lounge entrance.

The flight to Abu Dhabi was uneventful, and was as expected based on the numerous reviews of the Etihad Pearl class flights. The seats were indeed lie-flat seats as can be seen in the photo..

Having a window seat was rather pleasant, though a little cramped, certainly not a good place for anyone who is claustrophobic.
